Frank L. Smith III
I am a lecturer (tenure track) in the
Centre for International Security Studies at the University of Sydney.
My research examines how political organizations and social institutions mediate the relationship between technology and international security.
I am particularly interested in research, development, acquisition, and doctrine relating to biosecurity -- namely biological warfare, bioterrorism, and biodefense, as well as naturally occurring outbreaks of infectious disease.
I have a B.S. in biological chemistry and Ph.D. in political science, both from the University of Chicago.
